Brother’s doing well, Sister’s doing well – I admire Sister for having to get up and drive, I don’t know how she does that – and back, every day. My goodness. But this is what she likes to do. But I was in a few high schools and I could see a whole lot, I mean, just living in Oakland with Brennan and the wife. That was an experience.
That was just, you know, it’s amazing sometimes. Family is gonna be family. Family, you don’t have choices with sometimes. You have to, no matter who they are, I’m just saying, it’s like that. You know, if it’s somebody that’s like a friend, you can tell ‘em. But you can’t do that. [laughs] But I enjoyed it. Our father had two sisters and those were the two sisters out there, Ella and whoever.
And these were black women. We’ve always worked, my goodness. They were able, his sisters, to have this big house in Oakland, California, right on 20th and Market. Never forget where it was. And parts, certain parts you couldn’t sit, you couldn’t be in, certain things you can’t touch. And the daughter that was my age or a few years younger, she played the piano. Matter of fact, they said she went into nursing.
